• Fast forward twenty years to the mid 1970s and I was on a flat roof installing a metal cap on the peak that was at the front and just after I sat the cap on the peak and was going to affix it one of these giant wasps came from behind me and landed on the cap.
I was only a few feet away from it and on a ladder leaning against the peak. This one was at least eight inches long and had a body fatter than my thumb. I backed down the ladder and all the way across the flat roof and watched it.
After about five minutes it flew away from me out across the nearby neighborhoods.

I searched online in 2005 and 2006 and found pictures and information about these wasps and they even called them cow killers but in the last few years I've tried to find them and everything about them has been scrubbed from the internet.
Don't know why unless they plan on using them against us but I am hoping someone that reads this might have some printed material about them or pictures you might be able to post in the comments.

  • Have to make this two parts

    .I have a question.

In the early 1950s when I was a very young boy while playing in my backyard I was startled by a very loud racket in the grass about six feet from me.
My grandmother came out of the house and moved me away and told me it was a "cow killer".
There was a GIANT wasp fighting with a cicada, that was making the racket, and it killed the cicada and dragged it across the lawn and up into a hole in a nearby tree.

This wasp was at least six inches long and not slim. My grandmother who was born in the 1860s was quite familiar with these wasps.

Can Mushrooms Save the World? 8 Great Ways Fungi Can Repair Our Planet and Its Population - Vision Times
Neither plant nor animal, fungi go far beyond being a fantastic source of food and medicine in the form of mushrooms. Mycelium — the main body of fungi — is continually healing the earth in ways our modern technology can’t even approach. Lesser creatures have benefited and thrived thanks to their strong partnership with fungi, while we are just closing in on a collaboration that could save us from ourselves.
