Remember the movie "Knocked Up?" The guy and the girl had unprotected sex and she gets pregnant by accident despite a burgeoning career, but they choose to stay together and have the baby. The guy's friends tell him to take her to the abortion clinic because he is broke, but he decides not to. The woman's mother tells her to get an abortion because "it's not a real baby" if she is unmarried -- using the situation of her accidentally pregnant sister who had an abortion while unmarried, then got married and kept the baby after getting pregnant again. "when you get married, you can have a real baby." The woman tells her mom she needs her support in her carrying THIS baby to term, but the mother says no. So the couple tough it out and have their child despite everyone's protestations.
Abortion has become so normal that choosing to keep one's baby even in cases of rape and incest is appalling to people, even in the churches. Some rape victims who get pregnant from the rape or incest are Christians who are pro-life; and even their Christian families tell them to get abortions, because to become pregnant from rape is just too evil, intolerable and shameful for them to imagine.
Even if married couples can afford the babies, even when very wealthy, women still get pregnancy-shamed and kid-shamed. Babies are frowned upon, so the women get pressured to abort; and some couple's parents are frowning on their kids having their fourth and fifth kid, even though they are managing well financially.
