The Revenant This account of the Hugh Glass expedition although it is rich in special effects, is historically incorrect in many areas. The region where the grizzly bear attacks glass is on the prairie along the Grand River near present day Lemmon, South Dakota. They were not in a forested, mountainous area. The only place you would have found anything resembling a forest would have been in the river breaks along the Grand River in northwest South Dakota; some distance away from the Black Hills. (Approximately 200 miles.)
