  • Found out a couple of decent things tonight trying to get tik-tok uninstalled from my Samsung Android phone...

booting it in safe mode... turn it off and when you turn it on, hold the volume down key and you can get it in safe mode. ( still did not have the uninstall under tik-tok in the settings / APPS area.

Use a LONG HOLD on the icon on the screen...
BINGO, There it was hidden ! Removed that Communist Chinese piece of crap.

  • Next place you will want to get to is the firewall settings...

You will need the passwords on your router to get much farther.

  • Almost everything you need for a basic home web server is already in the Windows files that come with it... but to get it viewed from the outside world, you will need DNS server entry do people can find you.
Here is a free Dynamic DNS system for a single name... great to learn and play with...
    https://www.noip.com/

I use DynDNS ( https://account.dyn.com/ and have 30 names/pages I can use ) and use their dynamic web server system since the IP address on our home routers is not a fixed number and can change.
I can also grab my laptop and take it with me if I want to.
The next step is opening a router port so you can receive the requests to your web server.

  • I have worked with web servers since they started being included in the Windows NT environment at our United Technologies Assembly plant where I was maintaining our communication networks... using Notepad to generate my first few basic pages and Frontpage as the first real web document creation graphics program we had from Microsoft back then.

My current web server was purchased from Walmart in 2009 and is running on an older HP laptop with 8GB of ram and a 670 GB HDD that started as a Windows 7 operating system that has reached its final time in the upgrade process and will soon be turned over to run some sort of Linux flavor/version when I finally have the cash to replace it.
