I know Mother's Day is over and that our site are now set towards Father's day but we so often hear about the negative effects of not having a father in the home and I am sure some of you out there have experienced those effects firsthand.

But what we never seem to hear about what it is like for those to not have a mother in the home and how that affected their upbringing and it makes me feel as though we are elevating one parental role above the other when both ought to be equally appreciated. We so often talk about the sacrifices mothers make for their children, but if we are to truly appreciate motherhood as much as we do fatherhood, we ought to also hear from those who have not had a mother in the home. What was that like for them?
